| PRESENTERS:
Don Allen has over 30 years experience in business management and administration, including 14 years managing federal compliance issues. As Internews' Vice President for Administration he serves as the primary administrative contact for funders and subrecipients and oversees all proposal preparation. He interprets and implements federal regulations and policies affecting the organization and is the primary author of Internews' policies governing compliance with these rules.
Jim Tuite, Vice President of Finance and Operations and CFO, is responsible for the finance, accounting, treasury, information technology, and office administration at Christian Children’s Fund. Jim previously worked at the Population Council for 12 years as Chief Financial Officer and Secretary-Treasurer. Prior to joining the Council, Mr. Tuite traveled extensively to the overseas programs of Save the Children as an Auditor/Operations Analyst for over 2 years. He is a CPA and worked for the Boston office of Coopers and Lybrand.
Eric Walker , VP, Corporate Services, PATH, and Chairperson of the Association of PVO Financial Managers has extensive experience working with USAID. Eric has worked for four different Private Voluntary Organizations that have received grants, cooperative agreements and contracts from USAID and numerous other funders. Eric has led many Association training workshops including our annual Indirect Cost Workshop, USAID Rules and Regs workshops, partnering, cost-share, and risk assessment, and Working with USAID. Eric's very approachable training style combines a broad range of experience and a practitioner's approach with a good sense of humor.
Steve Tashjian head of USAID’s Office of Procurement Overhead Branch will discuss what he and his staff look for in reviewing NICRA proposals. Steve is in charge of reviewing indirect cost proposals as they come in, reviewing revised rates, and overseeing the overhead branch staff. USAID Office of Procurement staff responsible for negotiating rates and rate changes with PVOs will be joining us so that participants can meet and talk with the person responsible for their organization’s rate.
